About the event

The paper you choose can completely transform the mood of your artwork—especially when working in colored pencil. In this workshop, participants will explore the warm, earthy surface of Kraft paper, a unique alternative to traditional white or cream drawing sheets. Its natural tone creates a beautiful contrast with both highlights and shadows, allowing colors to glow in a different, more atmospheric way.

Through guided exercises, you’ll experiment with building darks, lights, and midtones on this surface to understand how the paper itself shapes the final image. By the end of class, you’ll have created a lovely Magnolia Bloom that showcases the rich potential of this distinctive material. Supplies are not included in the cost of the workshop. A PDF copy of the supply list can be found in the workshop description.

Please Note: For all administrative questions—such as registration issues, cancellations, or workshop attendance—please contact Arlene’s directly. Instructors are not responsible…
