This fall, the R Gallery at Arlene’s invites the public to experience a series of thought-provoking exhibitions that challenge conventional ideas about art—its purpose, its materials, and its role in our everyday lives.
October– Brosgé x AIR Collaboration
The season kicks off with a groundbreaking collaboration between Brosgé, a locally rooted, sustainably sourced clothing brand led by artist Jennifer Wilkerson, and Arlene’s 2023–24 Artists in Residence: Maria DeAngelo, Ottavia Huang, Tracy Loring, and Aly Parrott. This exhibition weaves together fiber, fashion, and fine art into a compelling narrative of craft and community.
November– Playable Field Guide by Rainier BernhardtÂ
Rainier Bernhardt’s culminating Artist in Residence project transforms a traditional deck of playing cards into a vibrant, interactive celebration of regional biodiversity and conservation. This imaginative exhibition invites visitors to engage with art through play, sparking dialogue around ecology and purpose.
December– Arlene’s Member ShowÂ
Returning for its third year, the Arlene’s Member Show showcases the diverse talents of the gallery’s creative community. Featuring works in painting, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media, this beloved exhibition offers a joyful reflection of artistic expression and collaboration.
This season, the R Gallery at Arlene’s encourages visitors to rethink what art is—and how it’s used. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.
Gallery Hours:Â Monday- Friday, 10 am to 6pm, Saturday, 10am to 5 pm
