Arlene's Artist Materials and the R Gallery at Arlene’s are thrilled to announce the return of our fourth Annual Arlene’s Member Show. This group exhibition features the work of local artists and creatives who are currently participating in the Arlene’s Membership Program. Since its launch in January 2023, the program has become a cornerstone of our mission to connect, support, and celebrate the diverse talents within our creative community.
This year’s Member Show brings together a wide range of mediums, styles, and skill levels—highlighting everyone from emerging students to seasoned professionals. It’s a dynamic showcase of the Capital Region’s artistic spirit, offering visitors the chance to discover original works and support local makers.
We’re switching things up this year by inviting visitors to vote for the three artists who will participate in the Member Select Show in May 2027. Visitors will vote for the artists whose work they enjoy most and want to see more of. The three artists with the highest number of votes will be selected for the Member Select exhibition. Let’s unite in supporting our members and continue growing our creative community together.
The exhibition opens on Firday, December 4, 2026, and will run through Saturday, January 8, 2027. There will be an Artist Reception on Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 1 to 3 PM. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Arlene’s will be closed on Christmas Day (December 25, 2026) and New Year’s Day (January 1, 2027).

Arlene’s Membership Show Guidelines:

Only individuals with current and active Arlene’s Memberships can participate in the Arlene’s Membership Show.

All artwork must be original and done by the Arlene’s Member.

Participating artists in Arlene’s Members Show can submit one piece of art.

Participating artists must complete an Arlene’s Member Show Artwork Information & Artist Agreement. Download the Arlene’s Member Show Artwork Information & Artist Agreement HERE.

Maximum size for artwork cannot not exceed 8x10” or 8x8”; with a framed outside dimension no larger than 12.25x15.25” or 12x12”. If a piece of artwork is considerably larger in any direction it will not be considered for this show. Any 3D artwork cannot exceed 12”x12”x12”.

Artwork is open to any media and theme and is up to the individual artist.

Artwork can be dropped off between November 11, 2026, to November 18, 2026, during store hours.

All 2-dimensional work must be properly framed and ready to hang with appropriately installed hanging hardware at the time of drop-off.

Artists whose artwork has complicated installation instructions must contact the Curator, Andrew at arlenesartist@gmail.com, prior to drop-off to make arrangements.

All artwork must be clearly labeled on the back with the artist’s name, title, medium, price, email address, and phone number.

The artist will receive 60% of sold artwork with a 40% commission going to the R Gallery at Arlene’s.

All artwork must remain on display for the duration of the Member Show ending on Saturday, January 8, 2027.

Pick up of unsold artwork is between Monday January 11, 2027, through Saturday, January 16, 2027, during store hours, no exceptions.

Participating artists will be considered and three artists will be chosen to participate in our Member Select Show in April 2025.
