Stretching Canvas Workshop with Teresa Ricci

Learn how to build your own painting surfaces from start to finish in this hands-on workshop with Teresa Ricci. Whether you’re new to canvas preparation or looking to gain more control over your materials, this workshop will walk you through every step of the process. You’ll learn how to assemble stretcher bars, properly stretch and secure canvas, and apply gesso for a smooth, durable painting surface. Teresa will also introduce ways to customize your ground by experimenting with acrylic mediums mixed into gesso to create unique textures and surfaces. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a fully stretched and primed canvas—plus the skills and confidence to prepare your own supports for future projects.
