About the event
This four-week beginning oil painting class is designed for individuals who want a confident introduction to the slow, luminous world of oil paint. Guided by a local painter and educator with over a decade of experience, the class offers an intimate introduction to the materials, methods, and rhythms of the medium.
Across four, two-hour sessions, we will move through the full life of a painting: preparing surfaces, getting acquainted with brushes and pigments, and learning how to choose and transfer a reference. From there, we’ll explore underpainting as a way to build structure, deepen your understanding of color theory, and bring paintings to life through glazing and thoughtful finishing details.
