FREE R&F Encaustic Demo with Dietlind Vander Schaaf

This demonstration will cover what encaustic is and safe working temperatures; appropriate fusing tools; basic studio ventilation and tips for workspace setup; appropriate encaustic grounds; how to prepare a surface using encaustic gesso and the benefits of Ampersand Encausticbord; suggestions for equipment, including the R&F heat gun; methods and helpful hints for working with encaustic; fusing and surface effects; additional techniques (i.e. collage, stenciling, inlay, accretion, image transfer, and monotype); and clean-up of materials, including brushes and palette.
