Encaustic Studio: Collages from Monoprints Workshop with MaryK Weeks
Participants will use the fascinating medium of beeswax paint to make monoprint encaustic designs and will then use them to create collage. The class is geared for those new to the medium, and also for those with previous experience who would like to expand their practice.

About the event
Participants will use the fascinating medium of beeswax paint to make monoprint encaustic designs and will then use them to create collage. The class is geared for those new to the medium, and also for those with previous experience who would like to expand their practice. We will explore composition, color, and layering techniques as well as investigate various surface treatments to add finishing touches to the collages. Participants are welcome to bring their favorite handmade, uncoated papers, although all materials needed are provided at the workshop. Each student will have the opportunity to create two pieces. An apron is recommended. All supplies are included in the cost of the workshop.
