Basic Watercolors with Kris Woodward

Build a strong foundation in watercolor by learning the essential techniques every beginning artist needs. This hands-on workshop focuses entirely on skill‑building—not creating a finished painting—so you can practice with confidence and develop a toolkit you’ll use in every future project. You’ll explore core watercolor methods such as flat washes, graded washes, working wet‑in‑wet, and streaked washes. From there, you’ll dive into texture studies that add depth, interest, and personality to your work.

Kris will demo each technique and guide you through practice exercises, offering tips on brushes, paper, masking, and cropping so you can better understand how materials affect your results. Supplies are not included. A PDF supply list is available in the workshop description.
