About the event

This workshop covers a technique that has become a recurring favorite for its flexibility, limited clean-up, and the fact that it does not require a printing press. Most monotypes are created by using a field of ink that is either wiped in certain areas before the paper is added, or that serves a similar function to the graphite in graphite transfer paper. Both of these techniques can get quite messy and sticky, and are hard to do at home. With watercolor crayons or water-based oil pastels, you can create an image that can be extremely colorful (or monochromatic, your choice) and that has a nice variety of lines without the mess of using printing inks. Supplies are not included in the cost of the workshop.
