Artists in Residence are selected through a competitive application process. To be considered, you must complete this online application in full—incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Artist in Residence Letter of Intent
Please submit a letter describing your plans for your residency at Arlene’s. In your letter, be sure to include the following:

The classes or workshops you would like to teach

Your ideas for a community project

A description of the artwork you plan to develop during your time as an Artist in Residence
We encourage you to be as specific as possible.
Portfolio Guidelines for the Artist in Residence at Arlene’s Application
As part of your application, you must submit a portfolio that represents a cohesive body of work. Your portfolio should reflect your current artistic practice and relate to the classes you are interested in teaching. We’re looking for artists with a strong voice and vision, and a clear connection between their creative work and teaching interests.

Please submit up to 10 images of recent work.

Files must be at least 300 dpi.

Label each file as: FirstLastName_Title.jpg or FirstLastName_Title.png.

Applications without images will not be considered.
Your portfolio should highlight your skills, creativity, and unique perspective as an artist.
